OPOR Program Team
Who is OPOR and how is it run?
The OPOR program is led by a leadership team harnessing the skills of Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) Dr. Julie Maranda and OPOR Senior Director Jamey Martell. Together, they lead a combined team of hundreds of professionals committed to moving healthcare innovation to implementation through their collective contribution to OPOR.
Dr. Julie Maranda, Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO)
Dr. Maranda is a bilingual family physician and hospitalist in both Quebec and Ontario. She brings over 25 years of experience in acute, community, urban, and rural settings. Her leadership roles include Chief-of-Staff and Vice-President of Clinical Operations at a regional hospital in Ontario. In her executive functions she has led multiple large-scale projects, including the implementation of a regional clinical information system (CIS) in Eastern Ontario.

Jamey Martell, Senior Director of OPOR
Jamey joins OPOR from Nova Scotia Health where she led the IM/IT Clinical Applications portfolio. A Digital Health Leader with nearly 20 years of experience in both private and public sectors, Jamey holds a Masters in Health Informatics, as well as Project Management Professional (PMP), and CPHIMS-CA designations.

The Team
The OPOR team consists of staff from across the province. This includes our partners at IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health the Province of Nova Scotia, and beyond. The team is comprised of professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience including clinical, health informatics, leadership, organizational change management, health administration, law, nursing, adult education, communications, and business administration.
Program Governance
The OPOR program governance structure ensures the program is accountable, transparent, and proactive in risk management. The structure ensures project objectives are achieved on time and within budget, and the transformation reflects the needs of Nova Scotia Health, IWK Health and the Province of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotians.
