OPOR-CIS Implementation Schedule

One Person One Record (OPOR) is a transformation for the healthcare system in Nova Scotia, impacting how we deliver care to patients. This includes the implementation of a provincial clinical information system (OPOR-CIS). This is a single provincial implementation shared by all health facilities and requires participation from all sites and zones. Leading up to implementation, Subject Matter Experts from across the province were also involved in design and build phases of the new processes, workflows, and systems. The implementation of the OPOR-CIS will also include several Novari applications.

OPOR-CIS Implementation Timeline:

Wave One: IWK Health will implement OPOR and begin using the new CIS and Nova Scotia Health will implement Novari Medical Imaging Requisition Management solution on December 6, 2025.

Wave Two: Nova Scotia Health will begin implementation with Central Zone on May 9, 2026. All physicians, providers, clinicians and staff will use the same system regardless of the Central Zone site they are working at.  Dates for remaining zones will be announced soon!
