What does a Physician Lead Do?

Support One Person One Record Readiness and the physician components of the clinical practice standardization across IWK Health and Nova Scotia Health to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care using clinical systems and knowledge-driven care.

Engage patient care providers with varying roles including physicians, interprofessional team members, ancillary department personnel, and health records professionals to contribute to the effective use of the Clinical Information System (CIS).

Assist to create clinical protocols, standardization and metrics of clinical documentation to facilitate successful adoption of clinical applications.

Time commitment: Estimated at 4-6 hours per week.

Compensation: combined sessional and deliverable based.

Physician Leads are: 

Responsible for leading the institutional efforts to continue to build, validate, and optimally implement the physician and advanced practice provider components of a province wide CIS and any digitally enabled health care. The Physician Lead will have a focused responsibility across their designated specialty area or zone as appropriate, with special attention on CIS implementation and physician engagement.
